I’m deathly afraid of flying and yet this is one of my favorite podcasts. It helps my anxiety to learn the many steps that the aviation industry takes to improve safety after a crash. Gus’s enthusiasm for aviation is genuinely infectious, and I love Chris’s questions and commentary. Also side...Read full review »

I love this podcast. Gus is able to break down the technical information in ways we can all understand. Gus and Chris have a great chemistry and work well together in telling the story. Please don’t stop now! I know there is more to share on our airplane safety.

My all time favorite podcast! Great chemistry between Gus and Chris. Very well informed and appropriately funny. This podcast was the one that got me into podcasts and I’ve listened to every episode multiple times. As a pilot this podcast is both informative and entertaining. Please don’t...Read full review »

Thanks for this podcast guys - it is fascinating stuff. Really appreciate your time and effort! Also I’d be really interested to see if you think the loss of the BSAA Avro Lancastrian Star Dust in 1947 is worthy of a show… it’s a real mystery… surrounded with conspiracy theories…

Hey guys, I enjoy this podcast so much! I’ve always been interested in plane crash investigations (a bit bizarre as I am flight crew) and you guys do such a great job of explaining incidents. You guys have gotten me through some dreaded long winter dog walks - you made them bearable! Thanks so much!

I love watching mayday air crash investigation and this podcast is up my alley

Black box down is such a compelling podcast with great expert analysis of a wide range of aviation incidents. Gus and Chris have a great rapport and effortless style. I feel strangely reassured about flying when you hear just how many things have to go wrong for a crash to happen.

Love the podcast. Just started recently and so glad I did. I love the combo of a lay person and someone who’s basically becoming an expert. People don’t understand why Chris is on the show but they need to understand he is basically on the show to be one of us. It’s a great combo to have.

I know next to nothing about planes and flying but I adore this podcast and have been listening for a long time. I normally don’t listen to podcasts by men but Gus and Chris are the two least threatening men in existence and I feel blessed to be able to listen to them on the same podcast. You do realise that you miss half of your potential audience by promoting man scaping products? It really really makes me want to shut the pod off. Why do you assume NO WOMEN would be interested in air disasters? So sexistic. The actual program is good with some room for improvement but well...Read full review »

Can appreciate the promotion of aviation and safety, rather than scaring people out of flying.

Like the main man of this show, Gus, I’ve a keen interest in civil aviation. I think Gus is really knowledgeable; by contrast, Chris asks the most unbelievably dumb questions. Some reviewers have suggested it’s an act, but I’m not so sure. Either way, Chris adds nothing to the show and should be...Read full review »

for both self described “av (aviation) geeks” and oddly enough those with perhaps some fear of flight. Can’t stop listening to this well researched and executed weekly podcast. The banter between hosts brings some much needed comedic relief to what at times can be tragic tales. I bring up this...Read full review »

The co-host adds absolutely nothing here. Just inserts stupid questions with an off putting tone that distracts from the story. Example: (there’s a low oil pressure light) co-host: “so there’s like a tank of oil that distributes oil on the gears orrrrr….???” Lots of examples of dumb...Read full review »

Ordinarily people with zero expertise or knowledge in a technical area would resist offering opinion, insight, understanding, and conclusion. No problem here though! And let’s throw in some bad acting too. The only data offered by the hosts is confirmation of their idiocy.

Love BBD, but after I paid a year long subscription, and enjoyed the premium podcast, some reason the premium subscription was turned off. After reporting the issue, I’m still waiting for resolution

It’s rare to find a podcast that’s both exceptionally interesting and relaxing. I’m sure it’s an act, but can the co-host stop pretending he was born yesterday?

I personally love the show and if Gus was Bezos-type monster some are saying he is, I am sure it would show when he has to hold Chris’ hand through some of the nomenclature and processes. Have personal problems with your experience? Start a podcast.

Love the podcast, listen to an episode everyday on the way to work….and back home (45 minutes each way). But it does drive me crazy on some of the ridiculous tangents usually the cohosts go off on. I’m hooked though. Gus should do this podcast alone. Chris continues to add zer0 to this podcast.

It’s a strange thing to say, but I have been listening to this podcast for some months now, and I am a much less nervous passenger as a result! Gus and Chris make a great team with Chris, asking the questions I want to know (as a non-pilot myself). I now realise that being involved in a plane...Read full review »

i used to love this show so much, but learning gus cofounded RT, which has been a hostile work environment for queer and Black folx, and was likely witness to much of the harassment, has ruined it for me :(

The show absolutely awesome but rooster teeth is an absolutely vile company that takes advantage of its employees and has gotten away with harassment of its employees especially LGBT employees. So I can’t I’m good conscious support them anymore

I know NOTHING about aviation but this podcast has swept me away. I LOVE that Gus explains everything so thoroughly so someone like I - who knows NOTHING about planes also can enjoy the podcast. I also love their corky humor and storytelling skills. Best.podcast.ever.

Updated review: I'm letting this one go. For me, the talk about technology has become tedious. I'm not sure if I've just found other disaster podcasts that speak better to my interests or if these episodes, despite differences in what crashed when, have become too similar. I'm...Read full review »
