“I get excited every time this podcast comes out with a new episode. To finally find something that was created specifically for black women and improving their wellness has been so amazing to me. The only reason why I give four stars is because of the recent incorporation of religion into a lot of conversations. I know Christianity specifically is a large part of many black people's lives, but it's not a part of all black people's lives. I often start to get a little turned off when it feels like religion is being shoved down my throat and I'm just trying to listen to ways to improve my wellness and live my best life through the eyes of strong black women. I have the utmost respect for any religion, but I also don't appreciate when it feels like a podcast is turning into a "God got you" talk and it makes me feel as if the podcast isn't for me, a black woman who isn't Christian but instead just spiritual. I feel most comfortable learning wellness practices from women of color, but please take into consideration that not all black women identify strongly with a specific religion and maybe try to keep things a little more neutral.
