Definitely skewed reporting
I was looking forward to a NZ version of Serial, or one of the other recent popular true crime podcasts. However there are huge differences in the way this reporting has been presented. Rather than coming across as a neutral party equally discussing all avenues of possibility Mr Van Beynen's tone becomes increasingly incredulous when discussing David's side of the case. This was very disappointing as I wanted to make up my own mind, based on the evidence presented. Unfortunately the skewed manner in which Van Beyen reported this investigation has been a big turn off for this listener. The podcast is more akin to the sensational reporting of a local tabloid than the intelligent and neutral position taken by larger broadcasters like NPR.Read full review »
