Who critiques the critics?
Surely not I. I discovered this podcast in early July, and I've been raving about it to almost everyone I meet ever since. It hits my comedic sweet spot -- stupid humor done really smartly. Imagine a world in which the Phantom Menace was the first ever Star Wars film George Lucas made. (By which, of course, I imean imagine our own world because that's exactly the way it happened AS EVERYBODY KNOWS. Right, Griffin?) Our guides to this cinematic analysis are the perfectly balanced duo of comedian/actor Griffin Newman and film critic David Sims (and it is *perfectly* balanced -- David somehow always knows exactly when to put his foot down and keep Griffin firmly in likeabley neurotic territory). Their charming rapport is only enhanced when the Benducer and his littany of nicknames enter the picture. Not only are the episodes highly entertaining and laugh-out-loud funny, the expertise of our critics is clear. If I stumbled upon Griffin and David at a party talking about movies, I'd likely park myself down to listen to their insightful takes on the business as a whole. I wholeheartedly recommend this podcast.Read full review »
