5am. Couldn’t sleep. Found it. Started and didn’t stop until I listened to the whole 1st season. I’m grateful they made this series for us, thank you! As a child gymnast, the topic interested me. And as a parent of an elite athlete, ditto. The series is interesting and thorough, and the...Read full review »

I don’t even care much about sports, but this podcast made me cry multiple times, which is the highlight praise imo.

Just listened to to Rebbecca Andrade’s story with my daughter who is a gymnast and had two ankle breaks and surgeries this year. Truly inspiring to hear Rebecca’s story. Thank you for telling it!

As a long-time figure skater the critique of gender conformism, racism, homophobia in skating is so necessary (and long overdue). Ageism, ableism and fat-shaming are also prevalent. Thanks for addressing these questions in a thoughtful way.

I don’t even know how I found this podcast but it’s fantastic! I love hearing the stories of sports I enjoy watching (specifically at Olympic time). Interesting topics and insights. I crushed the first season during an adhd cleaning fixation day. Perfect!

Don’t be fooled - this podcast isn’t just about skating. Ari does a fabulous job of putting context to how sexuality and traditional roles limit all of us. The microcosm of the skating world with its rigid roles makes it easy to understand and it’s then not difficult to see how widespread such...Read full review »

I binged this podcast because I had no idea about what went on in the background at the Olympics in gymnastics . The lack of safety measures was alarming and underscores the point that the people at the top are not always your protectors. Please keep making these informative podcasts about...Read full review »

Giving these stories a voice after all these years hopefully brought some consolation for something so unfixable. Appreciate the quality effort put into bringing this out into the world.

I loved everything about this podcast -the story itself, which I wasn't at all familiar with, despite at least some familiarity with Olympic gymnastics, the production, the writing, the editing, the narration and interviews. Huge thanks to everyone involved. One of my all time favorite podcasts.Read full review »

Despite Khorkina’s megalomania and gross contemporary public commentary re: abuse, I’m still not over what happened at the 2000 Olympics and think about her yelling about that springboard regularly. I love how this show threads the needle between the global dysfunction of gymnastics culture...Read full review »

Well told story about the all around gymnastics competition at the Sydney Olympics. A story that needed to be told. I feel for the competitors. They were robbed of a real competition.

A wonderful deep dive into the vault debacle at the 2000 Olympics, equally accessible to gym fans and those who have never heard of the worst equipment failure in modern Olympic history. Very engrossing, great audio quality, very professional!

I’ve enjoyed revisiting this controversy as I feel like the success of the Barcelona and Atlanta Olympic US women’s teams overshadowed this. I’m impressed with the former elite gymnasts they were able to interview. Would love to see this same team dedicate a show to the recent 2020/2021 Tokyo...Read full review »

A really in depth, truth telling podcast! As a gymnast watching every moment of those games I always wanted to know more about the vault scandal. I’m glad I found this. So much more to it than I ever knew!

Full of suspense and has you wanting to understand why!! Very well presented. The narrators voice is clear and calm, so often I find voices that are grating and overly speeded up.

Fittle Linger via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 08/31/21
This was well produced, well researched and well told. The story is completely uninteresting. Someone screwed up, it wasn’t picked up until after the damage was done. Hopes and dreams shattered, like they are for someone in every Olympic event.
