“Jesse and Katie have an amusing banter and I have never listened to an episode that didn’t make me laugh at least a couple of times. And I don’t laugh much, I’m not a laughy guy, so that says something. People of all ages and most political stripes make up their audience: you discover this if you pay the subscription fee ($5/mo) to join the “primo” community, where lively conversations on censorship, sex/gender, racism & antiracism, animal concerns, religion, food, and all sorts of things take place on an open thread that restarts every Wednesday.
If you scroll down the titles of the episodes, you get a sense of what kind of topics they (un)cover in their unique, eccentric way. They are both chronically subject to cancellation campaigns, and the audience is pretty much 100% contemptuous of both critical social justice activism and know-nothing MAGA chudism. It’s a great podcast for people who feel politically homeless, and there’s always something surprising on this show.
My only criticism is: I wish Katie wouldn’t bring up the subject of adult diaper fetishism on more than half the episodes. She only talks about it for a few seconds, but just typing those words “adult diaper fetishism” makes my stomach turn. It’s a fairly minor flaw, though, for what is a consistently interesting and engaging show.”
