Getting harder to get through episodes
Used to really enjoy this podcast, especially their dissections of the media and cultural controversies. But can only take so much Katie, who seems like a deeply unserious person dining out on a single long-ago story that got her attention and the mantle of “expertise.” This week she’s making Jewish jokes (stereotypes are hilarious to her) while discussing the Oct. 7 attacks. Meanwhile Jesse’s reporting always feels solid but it’s steeped in a desperation for respect (and Katie’s approval) that is becoming embarrassing. Plus the subject matter seems ridiculous more and more, and to go on and on, as does the banter about their personal lives. Go back to your podcast roots.

I am finding this podcast to be an island of sanity in this increasingly insane world. It is so refreshing to hear intelligent people discuss complex issues through the lens of common sense and not ideology. The Patreon is more than worth the money and the discourse overall is desperately needed.
