Momentum is growing behind the innovative clean energy finance concept of Green Banks. Green Banks provide low-cost financing for clean energy projects in partnership with private investors. They reduce the cost of capital to lower the price of clean energy and leverage public dollars with greater private investment. To build on this movement, Congressman Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) introduced the Green Bank Act of 2014 to create a Federal Green Bank.

NRDC decided to study it – are reports of 10% to 20% savings from meter-based analytics realistic? Their case study of three specific buildings says the answer is "Yes".
