I enjoy this show more than words can express. MIt allows me to learn more about my Irish heritage (plus makes me wish I had listened more carefully, and known enough to ask more questions while the previous generation was with us, may God bless them and rest their souls). In any event, I find...Read full review »

This show is fascinating to listen to, well-researched and enjoyable. I love listening to the recordings from the archives, even if I can only understand every third word. Plus, Jonny can be pretty hilarious. Slip on a pair of disemboweled chickens and have a listen!

The narrators voice is lovely but I wish he would speak slower. It would make this a really phenomenal podcast. Cool info, great research, please slow down.

Jonny deftly walks the often blurry lines between hard academic analysis of folklore and the soft-focus images of old Ireland from the very “folk” who are creating and adapting the “lore.” This podcast is not just for those who are exploring the stories of their Irish ancestry. I’ve enjoyed the episodes I’ve listened to so far but deducted a star for the sound quality. I need to be in a pretty quiet place to be able to hear them well enough.
