My favorite podcast!
A friend recommended this podcast ages ago and I can't believe it took me so long to listen to! I binged both seasons over the course of a weeklong roadtrip and am obsessed. The format is so engaging and I love how the hosts contextualize individual stories in the broader medical system/complex. As a former public health proefessional, I loved how she uses personal stories to delve into deeper issues. Though it doesn't always expliclity touch on the feminist themes underpinnning the premise, it's so illuminating to hear how/why women and trans people are often left to their own devices when it comes to solving their own medical issues. It's also just such a relief that every episode ends on a positive note. Love this podcast! I'd be interested in future seasons to hear a story about how fatphobia within the medical system impacts patient (mis)diagnosis and treatment since that's a huge element of healthcare!Read full review »
