San Angelo Native living in Kansas City LOVES this podcast!
Praise Be that I somehow found your podcast!!! I LOVE IT! I lived through the massive oil boom in the 80’s and totally remember the big money and childhood friends who’s parents benefitted from it. I also remember the oil bust. Once a Texan, always a Texan and I find myself with tears springing to my eyes listening, overcome with memories about kaliche dust of all things and mesquite trees and the wide expanse of desert and tumbleweeds and cowboys and Mexicans all living in harmony. My brother played football the year that our high school beat Permian and there is nothing like the memory of being on their turf, Permian fans in a sea of black and silver, our fans in orange and blue and the incredible victory that had us celebrating like wild men (and women!). I love hearing our accents, love remembering the little sayings like “fine as frog’s hair split three ways”. I could go on and on but I just want to thank you for this fantastic bit of storytelling. If you intended to touch our hearts and minds, you succeeded! Love always, Kim Oursler Macy

Usually podcast documentaries are boring but this is really well done and tells a story that needs to be heard by the country who are ignorant of it like I was.
