Listening to the Liz Truss interview with Chris, I cannot understand why newscast gives airtime to this failed politician. She is delusional in what she achieved or can in the future achieve. There was no push back by Chris when she denied and was unrepentant on the untold damage she caused to...Read full review »

Why are you giving air time to the former Prime Minister. She cost every family in the UK a lot of money, made our country an international laughing stock and ought really to be in prison. She certainly does not deserve having her memoir advertised.

Too much time on Angela Rayner’s alleged misdemeanour! I’m neither for or against her but there’s more important things… not least those who’ve taken us for millions !

Such a brilliant interview. Hard to hear some of the details but guest extremely eloquent. Recommend highly.

Newscast - making political news human - with a bit of Eurovision for good measure. Get up to speed with Adam Chris at al. I wholly recommend it.

‘ I gave up’ the news during COVID. I’m a GP and sometimes I felt life had too much misery at work so I didn’t want to then come home and read BBC articles/ watch TV about murder , wars and misery. However I felt like an ignoramus so 3 months ago started listening to Newscast instead. And...Read full review »

If you want an in-depth discussion, it’s not the pod, but you can get that from so many other podcasts. and when you get up in the morning and you just want to know what’s going on in UK politics today, and a bit about stuff around the world, without it being too serious then it’s perfect

Adam and Chris are great on this during the week. Have stopped listening to the weekend shows, which are more like Labour Party Political broadcasts.

I listened to this episode, hoping to get at least some in depth discussion on the subject. I got nothing, but bland chit chat and a bit of lame banter. A weak interview with Michael Gove. Before long they were on talking about Mark Knopfler. I’m afraid to say the BBC has lost it for me. I used...Read full review »

As someone who doesn’t avidly follow the news on TV this podcast is just perfect. News is presented in such a way that makes it interesting. The presenters are all fabulous… they explain up front the topics they’re covering and make it easy for the casual listener. Keep up the great work...Read full review »

Hahahahah - so Sir Simon Nobody says it will be a decade of decline under Labour?! Maybe the BBC should ask about the disastrous decline we’ve been under the Sleazy Nasty Party - the Tories. So weak.

Paddy and Laura... the mutual adoration society. Sickening praise for one another.

2 stars because 2 days of the week it is bearable. Maybe we could have a separate feed for the grown up version at the weekend?

What a frustrating listen. I wish Laura had done her homework. She should point out that on divorce, marital assets are shared so Mone and Barrowman’s argument that the money wasn’t hers was arguably nonsense. Also, why no questions about the Isle of Man and a member of the House of Lords...Read full review »

Have listened to newscast for ages and listen every day so was excited to hear it would be seven days a week. However the weekend episodes with Laura and Paddy are some of the worst podcasting I’ve ever heard. Almost no news just promoting their own shows and blowing smoke up each others arses....Read full review »

I generally enjoy this podcast particularly Chris Mason and Adam Fleming. But I cannot say the same for Laura Kuensberg. And sadly the coverage on Israel Gaza is unlistenable to because of the ghastly Jeremy Bowen whose prejudice and disinformation against Israel is so bad it’s now being parodied...Read full review »

It’s fine. Not a patch on the Newsagents and the journalistic quality and ability to challenge is clearly lacking

•EPISODE: “Lockdown 3.1”, in which the host asserts the capital of New Zealand in Auckland. •EPISODE 7.11.23 “Marching Orders”: In which the BBC’s home affairs correspondent is indecisive: “I really felt for the police officers who were stuck LITERALLY on the line METAPHORICALLY between these...Read full review »

Adam’s pedestrian jokes (and contributions sometimes) are a mockery of this podcast. Chris Mason’s breadth and depth contributions are worth the time until Adam butts in with something rather pedestrian mostly. I used to really enjoy this podcast back when it was Brexitcast and even in the last couple of years as Newscast. Astounded to hear Chris Mason and a GB news host talking on Newscast about Braverman as if she was a normal politician. She is not, she has extreme right wing views and is using her position to stoke hate and violence while undermining the police and her own prime minister. This is not the time...Read full review »

Where’s the challenge of Guto Hari’s closing assertion on todays podcast that all civil servants are crap unless they were in the army? Unfollowed as a result of the most recent episode giving Johnson’s number one cheerleader (Guto Harri) free reign to peddle a narrative that seeks to limit Johnson’s responsibility as PM. Gone a bit downhill over the past year. Doesn’t really offer any deep analysis on what’s happening in the news. Often just repeats government talking points without challenge. The news agents is better.

Abandoned this pod when the smug and puerile chat around Brexit became too much. Tempted back by Paddy but LK awful and turned it into Torycast. Stated as fact that Boris nearly died. I’m a longtime American devotee of your show and just want to thank you for expanding to the weekend. The crisis period we’ve all lived through rolls on, and nobody really can say when things will stabilize. The high standard of journalism set by the BBC is more essential than ever.

This podcast can be a bit mixed.
