Discovered this recently, and while I’m sad that it’s no longer going, the back catalogue of episodes are a joy to listen. Steve and Remfry have wonderful chemistry throughout, and the Mr. Blobby and Macho Man Randy Savage episodes made me legitimately cry with laughter. Only complaint: they...Read full review »

A podcast about terrible albums that doesn’t include any examples of the songs - a total waste of time

You should do Summer In Paradise by the Beach Boys, an album so horrific it bankrupted a distribution company, had to be given away on QVC and is currently not on Spotify.

I’m struggling to find a better way to put this, but Steve is at his best when he’s being negative.

Brilliant spin off to Riot Act. Very funny but also fair and insightful…..who’d have thought the Naomi Campbell album is actually pretty good!!

You guys help me accelerate the inevitable alienation of all those who I hold dear to me by recommending torturously awful music for me to annoy said people with. Cheers.

I like the concept of the podcast and it can be a good listen. However while the main host is likeable the quality of the episodes depend on how irritating the posh co-host is. Some episodes he can be fine but in others he’s incredibly annoying and has one of the worst high pitched laughs you’ll...Read full review »

Not only is this show very funny and entertaining as they tear apart rubbish records we’ve all been subjected to, it’s also surprisingly in depth and is clearly very well researched! It would be easy to just simply make jokes and criticise the various albums, but the chaps also really do a good...Read full review »

This podcast is perfect for people with serious humor. This is not music for normal music lover. It's for people who love weird 'boinnng' and 'wheee' sounds. Perfect for me but an acquired taste!Read full review »

Riot Act is one of my favourite podcasts, and this spin off has really stepped up to the plate. Very funny and fair appraisals of some truly dismal records.

I’m a big fan of the sister podcast ‘Riot Act’ and am delighted the ‘Broken Records’ feature now has its own platform. The show treats each album on merit and gives a modern appraisal if it has been unfairly panned by history or deserves all it gets. All music types from all eras in the firing...Read full review »

I’ll never get tired of listening to Steve and Remfry open fire on some of the worst music ever recorded... as well as occasionally offering defences of maligned yet misunderstood works.

We’ve all been told are some albums are really bad. It’s great that someone is vetting them, so we don’t have to listen to them ourselves.

Another wonderful podcast from the Riot Act boys. This used to be my favourite part of their regular show, now given its time to shine in its own podcast. Despite the title, they don't just sit and poke fun, instead they try to understand why each album is consider bad and make their own...Read full review »

The albums that the boys review are mostly awful. The stories surrounding the albums are always interesting. It’s well researched and absolutely hilarious. They debate and discuss the pros and cons, recite dodgy lyrics, talk about the history of the artists, how the records were made and what...Read full review »

An offshoot of the fantastic Riot Act alternative music podcast, Broken Records is a great in depth look at some of the worst music ever made. Sometimes funny, sometimes tragic, but always entertaining and always informative.

This is an essential listen if you love alternative music as they boys tell you what to avoid when it comes to music!

Straight in for a review - Broken Records was a great segment in the regular Riot Act show, so I am dead pleased it’s found it’s own home!

Who knew that such horrible music could inspire such an amazing and funny podcast!

Stephen and Remfry are two of the best podcast hosts out there. Their depth of musical knowledge mixed with wit and humor (and jabs at each other... always in good fun) make for a consistently entertaining listening experience. If you enjoy this, be sure to listen/subscribe to Riot Act!

The hosts are superb. They have a superb chemistry and discuss music in such an in-depth and precise manner... plus, they are both hilarious! Thank you for the free podcast!

I’ve followed Riot Act since it first started and loved this section when it was introduced. Steve and Remfry have such a way with words when it comes to reviewing terrible records, great shout giving Broken Records its own separate platform. Thanks for putting yourselves through this search...Read full review »

My fave part of the regular show now has its own hub. As fun as it is painful. Can’t wait for Kiss ‘the elder’ & Duran Duran ‘thank you’
Wallernptweller via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 04/07/21
The funniest review podcast of the lot, deriving pleasure from the darkest dingiest dankest corners of many great artists careers. There’s also just some proper crap that provokes Steve and Remfry into hilarious outbursts of righteous indignation.
