Four stars for the host and the few episodes I have listened to. But the audio quality is poor. For example, in the September 13th ‘A Maratha on Sri Lankan Genetics …’ the guest portions were not at all clear nor even entirely audible. One thing I did hear and agree with is the guest’s...Read full review »

This podcast explores dimensions not found on other channels by inviting unique set of guests

I just listened to an episode from May, 2020 on Tibetan empire and Buddhism. Emperor Songsten Gampo (who had a Chinese consort, Princess WengCheng) was the 33rd emperor, not the first! It was Atisha/Atisa not “Himsha” who was the Bengali teacher/master that influenced current day Tibetan...Read full review »

Interesting unpredictable (a compliment) pod cast. Very much liked interview with Fortner

The BP Podcast approaches every guest and topic with curiosity and intellectual humility, which is refreshing to see. There is a great diversity in ideas discussed. I would recommend it to all Indians as well as to outsiders who are interested in understanding the Indian subcontinent better.

Razib Khan must be on all the episodes.

An interesting show content and participants but very poor sound quality. Can be jarring to listen too at times.

First off, this review is mostly for the episodes that Razib hosts/leads. I often don’t have enough background to understand the South Asia-centric episodes unless they are pitched at Americans so I don’t want to judge those. Razib is brilliant and I could basically listen to him expound on...Read full review »

I am regular listener of Brown Pundits podcast and enjoy it immensely, they had intresting discussions on Indian subcontinent, best part is all the hosts are intellectually curious, and looking to learn new things when the guests make valid point. Kudos !

Conversations and debates you won’t find anywhere in the podcast worth. Editing and audio is of avg. quality. You lose about 5-10% of what’s being said

Indian military history was great . Extreme bias , myopia and narrow mindedness of some commentators on the blog post was sad and depressing

Zach, Razib and Omar are intellectually voracious, widely read and endlessly curious, so much so that an introductory “about us” episode inspired me to check out the brownpundits website. I’ve been reading Razib for most of my adult life because of his extraordinary intellectual breadth and it’s...Read full review »

The Brown Pundits offer in-depth discussions on a variety of topics regarding both South Asia and the larger world. Highly recommended with one request to the Browncasters - fix Omar’s audio (his tends to be significantly lower in volume than the rest)!

... really low production quality. Interesting group of thinkers. Just needs an audio engineer and some tighter editing.

Razib, Zachary, and Omar are all super knowledgeable, and it’s both pleasurable and enlightening to hear their conversations.

As a long-time fan of Brown Pundits and Razib, I was very excited about this podcast launching. If you’re interested in South Asia, whether history, philosophy, or culture, this podcast is a great resource. It’s quite honestly the only English source of intelligent heterodox views on all things...Read full review »

2 episodes in and I found the podcast very interesting. I know Razib tries to frighten everyone by saying that he’s conservative, but as an extreme liberal I find myself more harsher than him on certain issues of mutual interest. Highly recommend for novel, more global and less biased political...Read full review »
