The 2024 Big Ten football season is set to kick off in less that four months, and the conference still has a very big question it needs to find the answer to: how is it going to break ties between teams in the league standings?
With the addition of Washington, Oregon, USC, and UCLA, the Big Ten is now an 18-team league, and each member will only play nine conference opponents this fall. With divisions now a thing of the past, and teams only having head-to-head results against roughly half of the league, messy tie-breaker scenarios could decide who plays for the conference title, and who gets a leg up in the race for a spot in the College Football Playoff.
