In-depth analysis and musicology
Spike and Mutlu do an excellent job discussing the background, stlye, production, and more of albums from a wide range of genres and time periods, while interlacing bites from the songs mentioned. The professional guests are a wonderful treat. And they're not afraid to pull out more obscure albums from their own collections and from listener suggestions. I'd like to suggest either "Boxer" by The National or "...Is A Real Boy" by Say Anything. The former is a mellow, depressing alt rock band that's right up Spike's alley, and this is the favorite album of all the older fans. The latter is a versatile 18-track rock opera from one of the best lyricists/songwriters in emo music history. Both are considered some of the best works of their respective genres, so whichever sounds more appealing to y'all would be a great listen!Read full review »

Love the Ricky and about half of the new music I listen to comes from them. Giving this some love in advance. No way this is anything but excellent. 5 stars.
