Brenda rocks!
Cast-On was one of a few knitting podcasts that were out a year ago. Now it's considered the gold standard. She works to make the production excellent, provide interesting information, and commisserate with us when we have projects that simply just don't come out right. Many podcasts are done on a shoestring budget. She succeeded in gaining sponsorship, which tells you she's not a hack. Brenda's voice is like nails on a chalkboard, extremely nasal-y and difficult to listen to. She is also very snooty sounding, like she "knows it all" about knitting. The only problem with this podcast is that it was the first knitting podcast I found, and while I enjoy listening to some of the others, there is simply no comparison with the fab Ms. Dayne! Brenda's podcasts are always interesting and insightful with excellent podsafe music. She puts a lot of thought into each episode and it shows. She talks about knitting but she also talks about life in Wales, history, literature, and life. Excellent podcast!Read full review »
