Why does Vic get a pass and Trubisky gets so much blame?
I think every reasonable fan is hopeful that Trubisky’s strengths at UNC, the most important being accuracy, (68% average over 3 years at UNC vs. 64% over 3 years with Da Bears) will become a strength after the game “slows down” for him. Having said that, let’s see what happens this Fall. I am a big Vic Fangio fan but I don’t know if he was the best coordinator for the personnel on our defense. I understand that there are other aspects of this team that didn’t do their part but given the talent on the 2018 version of our defense, I wonder how they failed so miserably at key moments throughout the season. Yes, there magical moments we will never forget but there were some major failures. My point is that a defense which was easily #1 on paper in 2018 should not have faltered in key moments. Fangio’s believed in “bend, don’t break’ and while I agree that the defense dominated at times, it also left quite a bit to ask, “what if?” 1. Week 1 @ Green Bay – Defense blows a 20 point lead to Aaron Rodgers over 1.5 quarters, surrendering TD scores of 39 and 75 yards. A defense that suffocated GB’s offense in the 1st half, hibernated in the 2nd half. R.I.P. Denny Green, “we let them off the hook...” 2. Week 6 @ Miami – 28 points given up to Brock Osweiler; enough said. 3. Week 13 @ NYG – 2nd Quarter, 3rd and 23 and defense gives up a 22 yard run to Barkley, followed by a 9 yard pass; Giants FG. 1st drive of 3rd quarter, OBJ throws a 49 yard TD pass. 4. Wild Card vs. Eagles – 4th and 1, Bears D can win the game after 3 stops at the 1. McMannis was the weak link and the Eagles took advantage. If the defense is expecting as short pass, then shouldn't the defensive call ask for the ends to get up field quickly and get your hands up in the air, in case of a quick pass? Yes, I know what happens next.... If Chuck Pegano wants to improve the defense’s play then I suggest he implement an attack mentality. Shortly after being named HC of the Broncos, Fangio was asked about the Bears defense in 2019 and he said that they still have great players. You’re right Vic, we do have elite players and Chuck, you have to let them loose and wreak havoc on the opposing defense.Read full review »

This guy has got to be the whiniest “man” I’ve ever heard. In this episode, “a QB finds a way” when talking about a ball getting batted at the line of scrimmage. Guess who else that happens to? EVERY QB TO EVER PLAY THE GAME. It happens to Brady, it happens to Brees, it happens to Watson! This is...Read full review »

Great work love the show. Keep them coming. However trying evaluating the next game based on something other than PFF grades. There’s not one single team in the NFL that uses PFF to make personnel decisions. You guys are good enough to form opinions on players performance not based solely on PFF.
