Best intermediate Chinese learning podcast
I had finished Duolingo’s Chinese module and moved onto Dot. I’ve also done Beginner 1+2 writing classes and know about 1000 characters. I’m lucky enough to have a language partner too. I struggled to find good Chinese listening material - what I’d found was either way too beginner, or way too advanced. I was beginning to give up. Then I found this podcast. And I’m drinking it up. It’s a great balance of English and Chinese mixed in together, in short, easily-digestible, small topic episodes. Definitely not for beginners, and advanced listeners probably won’t use it, but for an intermediate, it could be perfect for you. The topics covered are relevant and useful. There is natural chemistry between the hosts and you can tell it is well-prepared material. Karen (the host) has a good sense of when to use a Chinese phrase and her male co-host will often be able to answer without directly translating it - which is the essence of conversation. 这是我最爱的博客!

As someone who wants to be fluent in the Chinese language while also understanding the culture, the podcast is awesome for both! They make it really interesting as well. I could not recommend a better podcast for anyone interested in Chinese or China and its customs!
