Really love this podcast. I’ve learnt so much from it and it’s given me a feeling of connection hearing the stories of so many wonderful ESEA guests. As a BBC I’m so grateful that pods like this exist, thank you! Georgie is a wonderful host - so authentically herself and personable!

Such a great podcast about British ESEA culture with a super warm friendly host. I loved the live episode about takeaway kids, the interview with a lion dancer, the personal episodes and all the rest! Georgie has a lovely voice and has great genuine chats with whoever she's interviewing....Read full review »

Chinesechippygirl is one of my favourite podcasts. I listen to every episode as soon as it comes out. As a British Born Chinese I find Georgie’s experiences very relatable, all the highs and lows of growing up and being Asian in the UK. I love hearing snippets of Cantonese in the podcast as I...Read full review »

Just listened to your interview with Katie Leung, wow you are both fabulous! It was fun to listen to & I learned a lot about British Born Chinese folks. Also it made me hungry for Chinese food, esp dim sum! Next I will listen to you talk to your sister. Looking forward to hearing more past...Read full review »

It is really difficult to find any kind of media produced by a British Chinese person and I am so so happy this podcast exists! It is so comforting to just hear the voice of a British Chinese person (also a young mom!), talking about her experiences and stories and to hear from the great podcast...Read full review »

I'm so glad I discovered this show through an article about Katie Leung (guest on episode 14). Georgie is fantastic. Her charm and charisma carry a show that has a lot of heart. It's about life, culture, activism, and more.Read full review »

I’ve recently discovered Georgie’s podcast and absolutely love it. I connect with so many things that are discussed here and it’s been a source of comfort and support given the anti Asian crime and violence that has been increasing recently. Georgie you’re doing an amazing job! X

I’m mixed and growing up I found it hard to relate even to my own family. This first episode really hit home. Thank you!

I’m so glad I started listening to your podcast! Your honest account of life as a BBC pretty much shadowed my upbringing and your stories are even more poignant now that there is surge of anti-Asian racism and xenophobic behaviour towards our community. Your first episode - I laughed, I cried, I...Read full review »

The transition music is made up of all the familiar sounds you might hear in Chinatown or in your own home... and it was pure nostalgia. The conversation between G and her guests are the cherry on top 🙂

I have just listened to the first episode and felt like someone was telling my life story. I think one of the best subjects that was mentioned was the levels of covert and overt levels of racism that BBCs can experience as well as the overly positive stereotyping of Chinese people. There is a...Read full review »

I just listened to the first episode and feel so moved! Everything spoken about, from growing up feeling embarrassed about school lunches as a child or the general culture of not speaking up about racism against Asians - felt so relatable and validating. We need more content like this for BBCs. 👍🏽

I’m a white British guy married to a Chinese woman and we’ve settled in Edinburgh for the last few years. Very enjoyable and insightful podcast about being a British Asian in the UK. Incredible how the prejudices still remain in the UK. Hopefully podcasts like this will help to educate the uneducated. Great work Georgie. Look forward to the next one.
