Great stories with excellent, no frills narration
I've been listening to this podcast for close to 2 years now and I am amazed by the many of the excellent stories. I love Kate Baker's voice and her sense of timing is spot on. I do agree that, on occasion, her limited vocal range sometimes pulls you out of the story, but more often than not her delivery truly enhances the material. While some might complain about the no frills narration (no soundtrack, no guest voices, etc.) I love the simple, straighforward narration. It reminds me of when my Mom used to read to me. I enjoy both styles of storytelling and think they both have a place out there. The stories themselves are often unique variations on old themes or just straight out, completely original concepts. If I had one issue with the stories, I find that sometimes they stray into the realm of pretension, but overall I have been thrilled to be introduced to so many authors that I had not been familiar with before.Read full review »

More reviews of Clarkesworld Magazine
I was browsing iTunes to add to my listening dance card and came across Clarkesworld and the lithe narration of Kate Baker. What a gem. I have a new favorite podcast.
