Ummm hello?
I’m really glad someone is looking into this cold case. I grew up hearing bits of the heartbreaking murder of Susan Powell and always thought she deserved better than to be forgotten. The narrator has a great voice for radio and the new details are fascinating and chilling. That being said, I felt a little alienated by the way they demonize “apostates” in the first episode. Leaving the LDS church and being an abusive parent/murderer are not the same thing and leaving the church does not lead to being either one of those things, directly or indirectly. To suggest that it does is demeaning and honestly ridiculous (especially when Steve and Josh Powell both were clearly very mentally ill) I’ll keep listening because I’m still interested, but maybe consider keeping the podcast facts-based instead of relying so heavily on religion or the lack thereof to explain every behavior of the (again, mentally ill) people involved. You’re pretty much guaranteed to reach more listeners that way too, which is what Susan deserves, to have her story heard.

This is very interesting. I live in West Valley, and being a similar age to Josh and Susan, related to this case from the very beginning. I’m looking forward to hearing all about this case from the perspective of the Pod Cast complete with details never before released.

The information seems well researched, but the guy seems like he’s reading, and not well, from a paper and not at all being natural. I doubt I will continue past the 20 minutes...Read full review »
