My Go To Movies Podcast
I love the podcasting work of Matt and Adam despite never actually having read or visited Collider prior to downloading this podcast, which leads me to now wonder how I found it in the first place. But I'm glad I did. They really get into some of the deeper details behind the movies they review (social/cultural implications, style, etc), offering far more educated takes than a typical movie review. My hot take: Logan is a better comic book movie than Dark Knight. While Heath Ledger's take on Joker far surpasses any villain in a comic book movie (and a lot of movies period), outside of that performance the movie is, dare I saw, just above average. How many Sophie's Choice moments need to crammed into 152 minutes? Harvey Dent or Rachel Dawes? Kill Reese or blow up a hospital? Boat full of prisoners or boat full of non-prisoners? It's a little much. Not even taking into account Bale's constipated sounding Batman. Logan, while about a "superhero", offers a more grounded and emotional take on a character with far more substance, but it also is entertaining. The Logan-Charles and Logan-Laura dynamics are well thought out and as emotionally real anything done in a comic movie. I'd also put the Logan action sequences, while fewer than an average comic book movie, over any other (like the mindless smashing of infinite robots in Age of Ultron). Don't get me wrong, I actually love watching both movies (and most comic movies in general). But with Dark Knight, it's more about what Ledger does, whereas Logan it's the entirity of the experience. I'd appreciate your thoughts. Keep up the great work!Read full review »

I've been following this podcast for 4 1/2 years (back when it was the collision) and I've enjoyed this podcast every week as Matt and Adam discuss the latest movies in an insightful way. The only criticism I have is that for some reason Matt and Adam's levels never seem to be even....Read full review »
