My Favorite Podcast!
I've been a loyal listener to Adam and Matt for about two years now, so I think it's time to finally leave a review! This podcast is perfect for film fans of all levels of interest. Are you into occassional fanboy snark? Are you a nerd who knows everything about David Lynch? Are you obsessed with composers or cinematographers? Whether you're here for the big budget comic book critiques or dissections of even the most obscure directors/projects, you're in the right place! I love Adam and Matt and will continue to be a loyal listener. I do wish they could find a female co-host, though. They've mentioned before that this is a "scheduling problem," but honestly, that just sounds like a "all the female directors in the world were busy, so another straight white guy had to direct these comic book movies" excuse, and I'm disappointed in that. Otherwise, an amazing podcast hosted by amazing guys! Now, for my hot take, which willl maybe be problematic considering how much the guys loved Blade Runner 2049. Contrary to many think pieces on the internet, I don't believe audiences didn't come out to Blade Runner because they're lazy or stupid, but rather because women saw themselves reduced to sex objects and villains (but mostly sex objects) in the promotional material. Overall, I felt the movie's treatment of female characters was deeply troubling, but I think it's maybe more important to examine why critics and film scholars are more inclined to think people are stupid than to say, "Hey, maybe 51% of the population doesn't want to go to a movie where characters like them are going to be reduced to sex robots." I know this doesn't explain the entire box office failure of Blade Runner 2049, but it still bothers me that this is an issue no one is talking about. That's my hot take! Thank you guys for continuing to put out this amazing show for us! I'm looking forward to the Thor episode!Read full review »

More reviews of Collider Witching Hour
I was upset when Collider Nightmares was canceled and I became a huge fan of Perri Nemiroff from that show. Her taste in horror is pretty much identical to mine. This podcast will now fill the empty space I have from the absence of Collider Nightmares. 90’s horror was my favorite and slashers are...Read full review »

Which is a more accurate description of what this podcast is. This is a fine podcast and I appreciate that the guys are smart and informative. I just wish it was presented more for what it is - finding flaws in everything and with everyone in the movie business. It is very critical and by...Read full review »
