How refreshing to have such a varied selection of wonderful programmes. THANK YOU B.B.C!

I would regularly listen and download these Podcasts, but now they have bordered on filler, perhaps its an age thing, but, I struggle to find the humour in most of these. Perhaps due to my age I am losing touch, but some of these "comedians" are using material I did not find funny when I...Read full review »

🥱 I thought this was comedy

Can I have a refund on my license please? I managed 8 minutes of ‘we forced a bot to write this show’ and I think I did well. Total rubbish, no doubt.

No flow, not funny, save yourself the bother.

This is supposed to be comedy- where is the comedy utter dross and should be put in the bin before broadcast
deafoldcodger via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 01/15/24
I wish the BBC had more budget to commission more shows by young up and comers.
Vonharlot via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 01/15/24
Recently Nora Roberts was great with droll snippets. The four previous episodes were mostly lacking. There is 60 seconds of commercials to skip at start and more at end. I recommend giving each episode 1-2 minutes and quitting if not yet zinging. None seem to progressively improve.

Sometimes the comedy on here is not for me, but that’s life. I don’t expect to love everything! I came back to the App yesterday and heard ‘I don’t know what to say’, ‘Your place or mine with Nadia Hussain’ and today I listened to ‘The Best Medicine’. I really liked these shows. They were...Read full review »

Not the quality it used to be. I now listen to specific shows through bbc sounds

News quiz and dead ringers do a great job at challenging the current decision makers. Just a minute, I'm sorry i haven't a clue very sharp. BBC radio is world class. Radio 4/5”s/6 reasons to be positive about the UK media.Read full review »

As the format suggests, it is a very mixed bag of content. Some things I find very funny and brilliant some content is not for me. On the whole a podcast I’m looking for every week.

Cannot believe Dawn French is associated with this nonsense . How the mighty have fallen.

Just a Minute is outstanding. The News Quiz and Dead Ringers can be good at times but both have a strong left wing bias these days. The others tend to be pretty poor. More Just a Minute please.
Xeja2020 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 02/18/23
Pontificating ramblings of the self righteous. The effing is almost the most interesting part. Witty it is not (except for Just a Minute which requires wit and skills, thanks for being there).
HélèneAC via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 02/07/23
This episode hit a new low for this series. In what world is this comedy? Unlistenable.
Vinceworld via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 12/15/22
Sometimes there’s a really good episode but mostly it’s very third rate and unfunny.

The Mark Steel shows aside, the vast majority of these are absolutely woeful. If a fiver of taxpayer’s money has been spent on them, then it’s a waste. If this is what passes for comedy these days, then God help us (other forms of saviour are available, as this is the BBC)
ChickenRunCharlie via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 09/26/22
It’s great that this show does not claim at all to be a news source or a place to get information, it is just some incredibly hilarious stand up!
OncorhynchusMac via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 07/01/22
I listen to this every week. A bit variable but as everones sense of humour is different that is fine. However, the inane introduction every week is not funny, not entertaining and is totally unnecessary. Please cut it out.
Lincolnshirebob via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 06/07/22
Only upon looking at the details was I aware it was a comedy. To be a comedy it must be funny. Is this worthy and better than the rest to claim a broadcast spot?
Clint Hyper Hyper Watchtick via Apple Podcasts · Switzerland · 05/31/22
Sorry Olga but not funny in the slightest. "Algo" needs re-writing and requires an interrupt handler. Also, having a BcS in Computer Science does not make one a "Computer Scientist".Read full review »

Love this show. Of course it can't be the same without the likes of Keneth Williams, Willy Rushton and Nicholas Parsons. However, the spirit of the show continues. Love it!Read full review »

Sadly most of the shows are simply not funny. Auto-download but then use mark as played.

I’m now of an age where I find it increasingly difficult to find “funny” things amusing. I’ve effectively given up on comedies as a film genre, and there is increasingly less on TV that gets my juices flowing. Nice, then, to discover this. Thank you, dearest Aunty.

Like wading through mud hoping to catch a laugh. This is what middle class commissioning editors commission their friends to make. The BBC used to be so vibrant..This is a streak of luke warm piss in the face of comedy.
drmondosmith via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 03/09/22
My goodness there are some whiny people in this review section. Real mix of different types of comedy, not all my cup of tea but definitely something for everyone!
Dan_Richardson via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 03/03/22
Tired monologue complaining about gentrification in his street while stressing his working class credentials. Each feeble gag is interspersed with unconvincing canned laughter, that soon begins to grate like nails on a blackboard. Even though I was doing the washing up at the time I had to quit...Read full review »

So I often listen to a great episode on here then look for the podcast for the series then find it doesn’t exist. It’s so annoying!

Ok, I would never normally leave a bad review on a comedy podcast, the theory ‘they can do it better than you’ has always prevented me from doing so. Well not anymore! Used to really enjoy this podcast. Not anymore. Most of the episodes, bar the classics, are just not funny.

It has become impossible to listen. It’s not funny, noisy, crowded words. What’s happened to comedy at bbc
Bee23456me via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 09/17/21
I love listening to comedy of the week as you hear new comedians as well as established ones. Sometimes it’s not my thing, only switched one off so far and found some little gems too. Great for driving to and from work. Something for everyone in my opinion.

This podcast from the BBC features some of the best standup and skit comedy features. Highly recommended
tankithoong1972 via Apple Podcasts · Malaysia · 08/23/21
The bbc used to produce amazing comedy. What happened?!? Seems to be politically correct boring tosh now. Comedians are clearly not being selected on ability but for other reasons. I gave it a good go but it’s unbearable. And I support the BBC so I’m it a “bbc basher”.

I loved the witch episode and would really recommend it to everyone

Methinks the Collins English dictionary needs to redefine the meaning of the word comedy. Very poor. Is it a ‘real ‘ audience? If yes, are they on drugs!
