Sorry Olga but not funny in the slightest. "Algo" needs re-writing and requires an interrupt handler. Also, having a BcS in Computer Science does not make one a "Computer Scientist".Read full review »

Love this show. Of course it can't be the same without the likes of Keneth Williams, Willy Rushton and Nicholas Parsons. However, the spirit of the show continues. Love it!Read full review »

Sadly most of the shows are simply not funny. Auto-download but then use mark as played.

I’m now of an age where I find it increasingly difficult to find “funny” things amusing. I’ve effectively given up on comedies as a film genre, and there is increasingly less on TV that gets my juices flowing. Nice, then, to discover this. Thank you, dearest Aunty.

Like wading through mud hoping to catch a laugh. This is what middle class commissioning editors commission their friends to make. The BBC used to be so vibrant..This is a streak of luke warm piss in the face of comedy.
drmondosmith via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 03/09/22
My goodness there are some whiny people in this review section. Real mix of different types of comedy, not all my cup of tea but definitely something for everyone!
Dan_Richardson via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 03/03/22
Tired monologue complaining about gentrification in his street while stressing his working class credentials. Each feeble gag is interspersed with unconvincing canned laughter, that soon begins to grate like nails on a blackboard. Even though I was doing the washing up at the time I had to quit...Read full review »

So I often listen to a great episode on here then look for the podcast for the series then find it doesn’t exist. It’s so annoying!
Maria-100% via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 01/06/22
Ok, I would never normally leave a bad review on a comedy podcast, the theory ‘they can do it better than you’ has always prevented me from doing so. Well not anymore! There have been some bad episodes on here and as previous reviews have pointed out there have been some gems but recently with...Read full review »

10% are gems 90% dross to make the quota BBC wasting a lot of money commissioning every thing and anything to show they are inclusive and diverse, all you are doing is ruining good comedy and wrecking the decent talent. Simple fact of the 4bn men only 0.00000000001% are funny same with any...Read full review »

Used to really enjoy this podcast. Not anymore. Most of the episodes, bar the classics, are just not funny.

Not the best of Jessica I’ve ever herd . Warning- if you have ever lost a new born baby, I wouldn’t bother with this episode. I have and found some parts of her humour somewhat sick! Yes her baby was technically dead on arrival, but survived, so she obviously finds it gives her license to make...Read full review »

It has become impossible to listen. It’s not funny, noisy, crowded words. What’s happened to comedy at bbc
Bee23456me via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 09/17/21
I love listening to comedy of the week as you hear new comedians as well as established ones. Sometimes it’s not my thing, only switched one off so far and found some little gems too. Great for driving to and from work. Something for everyone in my opinion.

This podcast from the BBC features some of the best standup and skit comedy features. Highly recommended
tankithoong1972 via Apple Podcasts · Malaysia · 08/23/21
The bbc used to produce amazing comedy. What happened?!? Seems to be politically correct boring tosh now. Comedians are clearly not being selected on ability but for other reasons. I gave it a good go but it’s unbearable. And I support the BBC so I’m it a “bbc basher”.

I loved the witch episode and would really recommend it to everyone

Methinks the Collins English dictionary needs to redefine the meaning of the word comedy. Very poor. Is it a ‘real ‘ audience? If yes, are they on drugs!

Listening to this on my headphones, it sounds like theres an laughter track. It's awful. Either that or the audience is on something.Read full review »

Some of the comedians have some of my views, some don't. That has very little to do with how funny they are. Great range of comedy, all worth listening to unless you can't cope with someone thinking differently to you...Read full review »

Aren’t these supposed to be comedy? Largely a discussion of current issues? Moderately interesting, yes, humorous no….
BC northcoast via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 06/22/21
Some episodes are just so unfunny that they should be fined under the Trades Description Act! I know comedy is subjective but licence payers money going to some of these writers / performers for what they serve up…is no laughing matter. I often fast forward or delete. But there are some gems;...Read full review »

BBC bashers will bash. As with most comedy it can be hit or miss. The fact that we have the freedom to listen to this and laugh or moan about it is a powerful argument for the continuing health of the national broadcaster. if you don’t want to listen to it, just don’t.

The Skewer is quite a well done political show. Reminds me of Vicki Bennett’s People Like Us work.

A never-ending caravan of cultural brainwashing from a deeply misguided BBC whose idea of comedy is pinning itself to a increasingly tiresome woke mast of unfunny “comedians”. Just dull. Really dull.

Truly truly dreadful. Dreary. I was expecting comedy.
Ged 3181 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 04/19/21
Too few belly laughs, and too many pointed gibes. I love comedians who have the gift of being funny and making people laugh. A lot of these comedians elicit claps or applause for clever repartee ( often at the expense of others).

Great sample of comedy from the BBC. There’s a lot of reviews below complaining about the ‘left’ leaning views of comedians highlighted on the shows; it would be helpful if they could supply a good example of ‘right’ leaning comedy for comparison.

One week it’s the superb “Just a Minute” with a touching tribute to Nicholas Parsons, the next it’s a load of drivel from someone that’s pretended they’ve “signed on” during the pandemic, playing to sterotypes and getting all their facts and terminology wrong. Never has the term “mixed bag” been...Read full review »
