“Listening to the Comic Geek Speak podcast feels like I'm standing in my local comic shop on a Wednesday afternoon, eavesdropping on people's conversations. The discussion is always lively and entertaining. The hosts of this show offer differing views on comics, and come from varied comics-reading backgrounds; their diverse points of view are what make the show work so well. As a bonus, the show offers interviews with both well-known comics creators and the writers and artists of many independent books. These interviews, coupled with "Off the Rack" reviews, "Book of the Month" selections, and "Indy Challenges," have made me a far more informed comic reader. On top of all that, the show is highly interactive, with e-mail, voicemail, trivia, contests, and "Call Me" segments, all designed to get the listeners deeply involved in the show. Finally, the show offers one of the best comic fora on the internet. It's a place where you can discuss comics not only with other fans, but with the show's hosts as well. “Don't get me wrong, it's still an excellent podcast but I believe that since they have basically become a huge part of the comic industry I believe that they have let thier sucess go to their head.
