Mixed feelings
I find the constant poking fun at each other of the hosts terribly annoying and the overall level of the discourse a little juvenile. Which is a shame because I love the mandate of the show - exploring important political topics and ideas in a way that is easily understood and doesn't require any previous specialized knowledge. There is a way to do this that is both intelligent and entertaining but I'm not sure this is the tight formula. Having said that, there is still some good content here and I'm going to give the hosts a chance to find/refine their voice. The episode on sex work was particularly good and a step in the right direction, but then it was also the one where the hosts did the least amount of talking. :/Read full review »

Less ‘guy’ talk please. The piece on Alberta was interesting and I thought, very good analysis.

This is what the Fourth Estate is supposed to do. Challenging and provocative discussion with just excellent guest speakers.

Was listening to Canadaland and decided to check Commons out. A solid show that has been asking some interesting questions about Canadian politics and culture. Great show guys!
