Heather Brooke is a freelance journalist and information freedom advocate. She was a US political and crime reporter before moving to Britain. Her investigation of expense accounts at the UK Parliament led to a major clearing out of implicated MPs and the first forced resignation of the Speaker of the House in 300 years. She writes for the main British newspapers and has published three books: "Your Right to Know," "The Silent State" and "The Revolution Will Be Digitised" about information warfare and WikiLeaks. She has won numerous awards. including from Investigative Reporters & Editors (IRE), and Index on Censorship. She is a visiting journalism professor at London's City University.
