Insightful and informative, but please stop trying to be funny
Update: After listening to the Revolver and Sgt. Pepper episode, Ian and David are finding a better mix in their conversation. David continues to provide great information about the album and songs (context, as they like to put it.) Ian, however, still insists on interjecting his (mostly uninformed) opinion on the album's theme - often trying to shoehorn things to fit his original thesis. Unfortunately, doesn't add any real insight into the analysis of the album. That said, the podcast is still a good listen, but it could be great if Ian tweaked his role slightly to ask more questions of David to draw out more great historical facts and insights. Original Review: As a long time Beatle fan, discovering fresh insights, undiscovered historical facts, and new musical anecdotes are a rare commodity. This podcast does a wonderful job of providing an analysis of each of the Beatles UK albums on a track by track basis. You will be fascinated by things you never knew before about these almost 50 year old songs. My only complaint, however, is one of the hosts tries to make funny quips that really detract from the discussion. This could be a five-star podcast if they can correct the one thing that just might drive me away from future listening.Read full review »

More reviews of Compleatly Beatles
Joined with the Please Please Me post and have looked forward to each new update. I liked the idea of just reviewing the albums in chronological order so this works for me.

David is fantastic. Ian doesn't even appear to be a Beatles fan. He is there, apparently, just to stop us from hearing what David has to say. Would be a perfect podcast if David was solo.Read full review »

I only just discovered this podcast, and am mortified that it appears to have come to an end with all the Beatles LPs covered. Please find some excuse to make more - it's so much fun listening to the complete Beatle-nut with his exhaustive knowledge of Beatle trivia sharing it with the...Read full review »
