Compleatly Beatles
This podcast talks you through all the Beatles albums and singles. The first couple of programmes (Please Please Me/With the Beatles) are a little manic; but the series gets better as it goes on. David Dedrick is the obvious fan, while Ian Boothby is more of a casual listener - but that does give you a different view of songs which you are very familiar with. I find the way they talk about how an album is structured very interesting. Apparently, the second from last song on an album is the weakest - which, in the case of "Help!" is incredibly, "Yesterday." Overall, this is a fun podcat, which I am really enjoying listening to. I have revisited albums which I have perhaps neglected and seen the familiar through new eyes. I think this would be ideal for new fans, but even as an obsessive Beatles fan of many years, I will be really sad when we come to the last album. A solo series perhaps? Lastly, there is no Lennon or McCartney bias in this podcast - thankfully!Read full review »

Even when they divulge deeper into certain songs, they don’t seem to be adding much of anything to the conversation. All the time they spend on all the already well regarded songs could have...Read full review »
