Give 'em the old razzmatazz!
Dear Sona, Matt, and um who is the other guy? Oh yea, Conan! Your podcast is superlative. I've been listening since day one and every Monday for the past two years, when iTunes refreshes and I see the new 'Conan O'Brien Needs A Friend' percolate to the top of my unlistened list, I become as excited as a union soldier in 1863 on mail day receiving word from his one true love, Winnifred Jackson, that a great bountiful harvest shall await him once this whole mess is over. I digress. For real though, I love the podcast, it's great. Not much to say that hasn't been said. One thing is stuck in my craw though. Conan, I love you but holy s&*t, you need to stop repeating the same stories on the podcast. If I hear you tell the story about George Harrison being shh’d by Al Franken while playing the piano at 30 Rock or the one about you eating sushi while Ted Danson waited for a table, I’m going to lose it. I feel like I’m listening to my fiancé’s uncle tell the same story he always does after he’s had two, maybe eight bourbons. He gets to the end of the story while he’s laughing hysterically, slaps me in the chest with the backside of his hand, catches his breath and says ‘can you believe that? i mean what are the chances?’ I of course oblige and say ‘wow, that’s amazing’ while simultaneously rolling my eyes and scanning for an exit. ANYWAY, love the podcast. Sona, you’re amazing, keep standing your ground with Conan. Also Matt, if anyone else on this thread is reading this, they need to listen to Pistol Shrimps Radio, truly a stroke of genius. Lastly Conan, you have had a huge impact on my life, for the better, and I mean that sincerely. You’re an inspiration. If there is one piece of advice I can give you, it is this; do not stop the digs on Gourley. For example, the intro to the Jesse Eisenberg episode wherein you shredded Gourley for ‘strumming a lute’ and being dressed ‘like the campaign manager of some turn of the century politician’ had me doubled over. Gourley, I’m sorry to throw you under the bus but in the name of comedy, you must be a lamb to slaughter. take care, leafRead full review »
