“Isaac does a great job producing interesting content and really digs deep into his topics. They're all presented at ground level and are easy to follow. His youtube videos are of equal caliber. Even if you don't fully subscribe to everything he believes or presents, it is still interesting to know what's out there. Definitely worth subscribing to.
A recent 1 star review mentioned his long intros and plugging his books, patreon, etc. but that's not as bad as listening to 'MeUndie' and "Square Space" plugs that a lot of popular ones go through. The guy has to make money, and he's trying to do it independently, can't fault for that. As for the long intros, I will agree that they are soemtimes a bit wordy. My only piece of advice on this for Isaac would be to skip going over what all he plans to cover on the episode, and instead do the same thing at the end so the listener knows what they are missing by not being a patreon subscriber. There is no need to tell us what's coming if we're about to dive in anyway- when listeners read the title of any podcast and click play, they're already on the hook, so we can jump right in and get to business.
