Actually, that's probably where the comparison falls apart - teetotal Michael's impressive work ethic couldn't be further from permanently thirsty Jack's work-shy ways, and both he and Gemma have put in countless hours of effort on our behalf, over a period of many years, to provide our weekly fix of spoiler-free Weatherfield views, news and reviews.
I feel like a comparative newcomer to the podcast, only getting onboard around episode 250, but now I can't imagine my weekend without it, and the arrival of the monthly Patreon episode is always a treat.
For those of us who don't do social media, that absence of spoilers means that we can always safely listen to the show and remain blissfully ignorant about forthcoming socially-distanced road traffic accidents; quicksand-related near-death experiences; Yuletide shootings; roof collapses and poles going through faces (or not).
