Description
Hi everybody. Welcome to another episode of the podcast. Sheri is a Chef Instructor/Owner of le pain de vie Culinaire and Cast Iron Skillet. She brings a diverse background which includes culinary arts, nutrition, and food science. In 2014 Sheri began providing “culinary edutainment” experiences through community cooking classes specializing in Creole and African cuisine. Her food journey began watching my grandmother Adele and my mother Viola create so many wonderful dishes in the kitchen. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Management from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, Sheri began my career in public education. Sheri has taught culinary arts using the ProStart curriculum on the secondary level, and currently teaches at McLennan Community College in Waco, TX. In this episode Sheri and I discuss her journey as a cookbook writer, and how we have to commit to the long-game to become published.
