It had potential...
An above average exploration into the drug smuggling story, which involved a Vice employee, and interns. The host is amicable and does a good job of attempting to paint the full picture. Unfortunately, the main protagonist comes across as a highly self-absorbed and delusional individual, and by the 2-3 episode, my interest in “his” story dropped considerable. As someone already familiar with the story, the series might’ve been more compelling with two less episodes. The material presented was largely written about, and therefore known. If you read these articles, you won’t learn much more with this podcast. Even more frustrating, is that there are so many people who aren’t interviewed, for one reason or another, that it becomes detrimental to the reporting of the story. If you aren’t familiar with the story, or have cursory knowledge of it, it’s a worthwhile listen. Episodes hover around the 30ish minute-point. But I would not otherwise recommend Semi-related, the choice for the ‘theme song’, was an inexplicably poor one.

Don’t like giving this vice white boy a platform. The host seems disconnected from his irritating rambling. Did remind me of why I don’t listen to Vice and agree that it’s overproduced. Actually can’t stand the podcast and so sad that I was directed to this instead of another season of Thunder Bay.
