After a mighty display of power at Mount Carmel, Elijah thought that things would unfold according to his plan. In 1 Kings 19, depressed and disillusioned, he journeyed to Mount Horeb – the same mountain where God had appeared to Moses – and hoped for a similar spectacular revelation of His glory. However, God responded in a different, but extraordinary way. Sometimes we get upset when things don’t happen according to our expectation. But God always has a plan and He’s always in control.
