Good content, writing & delivery but why repeat "dot calm" multiple times during each show??!! It's "dot com", which rhymes with bomb, Tom and aplomb. Your affectation undermines your entire delivery, please say it rightRead full review »

I’ve been a fan and avid listener for years. If you’re a parent, listen to the episode 911 from February 2nd, 2024. It’s 7am on a Saturday and I’m crying happy heart mom tears. Every week the episodes are insightful, thought provoking, and explore crimes and injustices in a new and thoughtful...Read full review »

Literally! I look forward to listening every week. Sometimes I try to wait until later in the day to enjoy the story but I’m usually not successful. 😃 Thank you!

I’m all for social justice but sometimes I need to get away from it for JUST FIVE MINUTES. That’s when I listen to true crime. Now I can’t get away from it on what used to be the classiest of true crime podcasts. Sorry Pheobs, when I want social justice I’ll to NPR. Ps. Was really shocked to hear...Read full review »

Since the vox takeover the adds have become so insanely heinous. V depressing Edit: slightly less bad now 🙏🏻

Recent episodes have a lot of chit chat not related to the story. I was disappointed by joining criminal plus. Some podcasts I’d recommend that don’t have chatter are crime junkies and dateline.

I’m going to be sad when I’ve listened to all the episodes and there are none left.

I’m so happy that I stumbled upon this show. Like all who listen I love Phoebe’s voice. I listen to her to fall asleep. Her softness and cadence are so comforting. The stories are so interesting and if I set the timer I can catch up the next day. I signed up for the contract because I can’t...Read full review »

Started off amazing. The episode about the girl who printed money with her boyfriend is still one of my favorite episodes of any podcast, ever. But, then it just dissolved into a social justice warrior mess like every other left leaning podcast. One star for ruining something I looked forward to...Read full review »

longtime criminal listener for years!! Love Phoebe’s voice and storytelling. Always intriguing stories that keep your interest. However since they’ve started reposting old episodes I get excited only to realize I’ve already listened. Wish this would be made more clear like “FROM ARCHIVES” in the...Read full review »

I have heard hundreds of podcasts of all topics and nobody tells a story as excellent as Phoebe Judge (and Ashley Flowers, but that’s another show), and the producers of Criminal are really excellent too. Great job and great podcast!

Sometimes I prejudge an episode thinking the topic didn’t spark my interest and when I listen they always exceed my expectations and take me on a fascinating trip into hidden corners of the world and untold stories.

Full of humanity and empathy, instead of the thrill-seeking entertainment that’s characteristic of so many true crime shows. Phoebe and her team understand crimes are not just about whodunnit. There are real people involved. Every tale, no matter the perspective, treats all parties with...Read full review »

I have been listening to this for a little while now and liked it at first but have been getting more and more annoyed by Phoebes voice and can’t stand it anymore. She has changed her voice from elegant to a OF voice. I just can’t listen to the podcast anymore

The best voice, giggle, and laugh - not to mention the most obscure stories of off-beat, unusual “crimes” I’ve had the pleasure to discover. I usually end up smiling at the end of most of the episodes, and I always have interesting stories to share at parties from this podcast. One of my...Read full review »

Hey Phoebe. You do this random, not from the states thing when you say “dot com”. Please stop. You’re from America and quite frankly you sound like an idiot. Look up your name on Reddit. You’ll see.

What an elegant and eloquent host. English is my second language and Phoebe is my grammar role model! And zero vocal fry! In a sea of Kardashian sounding-air heads, it’s refreshing to hear a voice worthy of its listeners.

Love the stories but just can’t tolerate the hosts voice so won’t continue listening.

Why
I have a love hate relationship with the host. A great voice for podcasting but randomly turns into this over-acting phone sex voice.. no one says dot com like that either . Your regular voice is so great without forcing all that extra bedroom voice stuff.

I’ve listened to Criminal since it’s inception and I loyally love it. I just came here to say that Toby Dorr has to be one of the dumbest and most delusional criminal ever. A crime show that’s not a spectacle! Phoebe leans into the mystery around criminal behavior, both modern and historical. The stories always feel respectful towards those involved. I look forward to the new episode every week.

I love the narrating voice it’s so relaxing. The stories are ok too. Phoebe’s way with words just hypnotizes me. Kind of risky when I’m driving I tend to go over the center of the road.

My new favorite podcast! Interesting stories, new and historic. Intelligent, fascinating, and with the most in depth information on even the most well known topics. The Nelly Bly story had not only the history of Blackwell’s Island, but a tour of it today. All aspects of the story covered here.

Wow, after having listened to a few Bonus episodes, I’ve found that Phoebe is quite a know-it-all and doesn’t treat her colleagues kindly. These episodes have really changed my perception of her and of who actually does all the background work for this podcast.
