“I am a heavy equipment operator & instructor. Just to preface this:
I love video games like Diablo, Syndicate, Elder Scrolls, The Realm & Ultima Online, but something was always missing. You could never collect the random gold pile on the shelf, you couldn’t woo the bar keep into giving you extra information. It was all NCP & Me.
A random encounter at a Landscaping company (not a Tavern…) introduced me to my first DM. He introduced me to a world that filled every gap, and more, that I had been missing in the video game world. He then passed me the scroll of fortune, and in it… it said…. CRITICAL ROLE!
I was afraid of such a power at first. It wasn't scripted. Random! No rules!!!! Well… thousands of rules… but that’s not the point!
It was random fun and adventure with friends over epic tails told by a master story teller. We laughed, we cried, we murdered old people. It was amazing!
