3 stars for effort
So far I’ve only listened to The Process Church episodes 1 & 2 because I have a personal interest in this cult having been born and raised in it. Which either makes me the best or worst judge of the coverage. The hosts read directly from Timothy Wyllie’s book, Love Sex Fear Death but did not credit his book before, during or after the episodes. That bugged me almost as much as the warning about this cult’s crimes which were absolutely not borne out by any facts provided. I’m almost certain it’s the host’s default disclaimer played before every episode for each cult as many many cults have perpetrated crimes of murder and devastated lives. However, this warning comes off as misleading and sensationalist when the crimes we are being warned about don’t actually materialize in the episodes. Ok, maybe these are nit-picky reasons but they don’t compel me to listen any further. However, the hosts do seem to have compiled a comprehensive list of cults and groups which can be used as a jumping off point to do your own research. I’d like to also chime in on the fakey fake style of the hosts manner of delivery. It’s pretty cheesy and completely unnecessary.

Love parcast. Love unsolved murders. Love. Serial killers. And LOVE cults. How has there not been a podcast dedicated to cults yet? Love it.

This show sounds like a PBS show. They explain every little detail of psychology in a child fashion.

Stoked for this! The trailer is dope and hella creepy. I love psychology and I've always wondered what kind of people join cults, so this is right up my alley!Read full review »
