Quirky, I Love It Despite Myself
I have been listening compulsively to these fellas despite being allergic to certain aspects of their delivery. The strength of the show is the easy rapport between these amigos. I feel like I have a Gen-X (Boomer?) posse when I put this on and wash dishes, and I like the way they dust off classic records and have thoughtful, diverging opinions. Their selections remind me of old neglected favorites and songs I used to love but have forgotten. I find aspects of the show annoying, especially the repetitive routines such as whispering "wax facts" and dopey variations of that phrase, I suppose these are justified as being their inside jokes. Also, the FM-DJ style delivery of some of them sounds out-of-date and fake. Just use your normal voices fellas, but please don't stop making these tasty podcasts.Read full review »
