“I listen to over a dozen podcasts and I can’t believe that some people think Dan’s podcasts are not the best. I guess they aren’t for everyone especially if you only want to be entertained. I’ve learned SO much history that is not covered in any history classes I took, like the eastern front of WWII and what really happened in WWI. Never mind how Genghis Khan actions shaped the world powers all the way to today. The new perspectives and angles on seemingly settled history is quite thought provoking.
Love the epic monologues along with ebb and flow between stories and narrative (plus no commercials!). Only wish Dan was able to release more content faster but these are intense and I would choose quality over quantity any day of the week. The only thing is that the increased volume of the “quotes” is a bit much but a very small price to pay.
For me, best to listen when you have at least 30 minutes (hour is better) of time like going on a trip or commuting to and from work. It is called hardcore for a reason and requires your full attention. Only wish that I was able to remember all of the details of each show but I find going through a series multiple times worthwhile. Oh and there are more episodes and series to buy on his website. All of them are good and the later episodes and series fit the tried and true Dan Carlin format, learn so much!
If more podcasts were like the this one then people might be able to repeat history so readily. Keep up the good work Dan!”
