I listened to the whole series in two days. Super interesting story; it was especially intriguing as someone who grew up in Idaho, not too far from Emmett. I thought the presentation was great, and the ending was so good!

Despite the fact that Dead of The Night clearly bills itself as a Drama, and not True Crime, several people who were quite obviously enjoying the program changed their ratings to One-Star, based solely on their own misapprehensions. (Imagine if movie critics gave “Fargo” a 💣 because they thought...Read full review »

This is fiction, totally made up, poorly acted. It should not ever be labelled as “true crime”. Pretending to be true crime is an insult - firstly to people like Payne Lindsay who work tirelessly on their investigations and documentaries, and secondly to the families of genuine missing people who...Read full review »

This is terrible. All the way around terrible.

I like it but I like fiction podcasts

So throughout the entirety, I kept thinking, why does this sound so scripted? Is this a ‘true’ true crime story?? If it’s true, I’m sorry, but why so scripted? And if it’s fake, sorry again, but it’s not well written at all. Good story maybe? But I find myself repeatedly rolling my eyes and...Read full review »

The participants are so rehearsed it sounds like an elementary school play, robotic and memorize. I really wanted to like this podcast so disappointed.

Became suspicious of this story not being true crime after listening to the “interviews” that did not seem at all real. Upon googling, realized I was correct and this is NOT a true story. If you’re okay with fiction, it’s not bad, but I am annoyed that the description of this podcast is so vague-...Read full review »

Well I originally said I was hooked. I thought this was true crime. After episode 3 I started to wonder if the interviews were re-enactments because they didn’t sound real. So I came back here to find out if anyone else thought the interviews didn’t seem legit. That’s when I found out that this...Read full review »

for an independently produced podcast w/out a network, im impressed. the story is really engaging and sucked me in so far. the concept/story/characters have a ton of potential, i can't wait to see where the story goes. i appreciate that the acting isn't over the top/ overdramatized like...Read full review »

This podcast was hard to listen to due to the poor voice actors. The concept is interesting however, so might be worth staying subscribed for now.

The voice actors are terrible, and nowhere in the description does it say FICTION. I wasted 5 minutes of my life on this poppycock. Nonsense no one should waste time on. Apple has this in the “True Crime” section for all you idiot saying we should know it’s fake...

The host’s voice is very low-pitched and there is always loud music playing behind it and it’s not easy to hear. No music needed while you’re talking. Also, it didn’t even cross my mind that this could be a fake story until I read the other reviews, but the “actors” are terrible. No one wants...Read full review »

I was interested too. I did research and even got on the Idaho state site for missing people. One place that I can’t find now labeled this as fiction too. I like true crime, not made up. As others have said be up front this is fiction. There isn’t anything anywhere that shows this is a real person.
Beckster48 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/15/20
I saw some of the reviews and just wanted to say that it is clearly tagged fiction. The voice acting could be stronger but I am excited to see where the story goes!
CCme-geez via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/15/20
Just a couple minutes in, but this all sounds acted and scripted?? Is this fiction? It’s sold as fact but it’s def acted, surely??
Camper in the wind via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 11/14/20
The acting can be way better. You can tell some of the characters are reading from a script.
stephdello via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/13/20
Why should much acting? Rubs me wrong way if this is true story. Don't script as much if this story is real.Read full review »

The premise of this podcast is interesting and the content has me hooked. However, the audio during the narration is muffled and annoying to try to listen to while driving in the car with so much road noise. The narration could be crisper and clearer for sure. Please improve this.
abigailynn via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/12/20
This is clearly fiction. The podcast creators should be more forthcoming about this. Or if they’re actually going to try to fool the audience....get some believable voice actors.
DeeSims24 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/12/20
Are all of these so-called interviews reenactments? Every single person sounds like they’re reading from a script.

Am I missing something? Why is everything scripted? And there’s nothing that comes up on Google except this podcast when you search her name. I’m so confused...
polygirl17 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/10/20
I can’t shake the impression this is scripted. The way every single person speaks is just left of natural. If it’s a fictional story, I’m ok with that, but it’s presented as true crime.
