Excellent show
Hi Namulanta. I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to this podcast - great work you’ve done with it! These stories spoke about the universal pressure and a tag of war that women endure. So much of identity is shaped from the point the midwife announces “it’s a girl!”. I related with so many of these stories especially Elle’s story. I’m Kenyan, early-mid 30s woman, career-driven and unmarried. Even though I am really comfortable and secure in my identity, every time a younger cousin gets married or another baby is added to the extended family, I am reminded regularly that I am not enough on my own until I get married and have kids of my own. I’m taking away lots of nuggets of wisdom from this podcast. I will start thinking about writing letters to my future daughter(s).
