Complete waste of time. What a shame.

Could of been done over 2/3 pods, no ideas why you’d have ten 15min episodes. Spoilt an otherwise interesting podcast.

Well researched

I didn’t really get where the story was. Or what was special about his particular story, compared to others. I also felt like the reporting wasn’t neutral at all. It wasn’t even like….let’s find the truth, wherever that leads. It was clearly…let’s prove it all in our favor. I stopped after the...Read full review »

I don’t understand why some of the reviewers were ‘triggered’. The journalist told it as it is…nothing more, nothing less. Interesting story and am only sorry to hear that the main guy is still getting away with it. I hope they’ll be a follow up, I noticed the website for the group is still...Read full review »

More BBC drivel

Paid for an ad, free subscription, but ad free contact was blocked due to being a non-subscriber! Rip off. Requested and received a refund from Apple. Avoid BBC podcasts like the plague.

To be clear, I am pro vaccine, believe in covid and don’t believe any conspiracy theories so I write this objectively- this podcast lacks real balance, genuine quote from the journalist, conspiracy theorists are “often attention seekers”. Come on you can just brand a huge population with an...Read full review »

An interesting podcast on a timely topic. Episode 8 is right where it should be, btw.

All the one star reviews are not analysing the pod, they disagree with its message. Conspiracists hate to hear the truth ironically.

This isn’t a bad podcast, but I’m not sure what story it is trying to tell. It’s not really the story of this man’s end of life, since it only briefly covers his last actions, and mostly repeats the little information it knows. It sort of touches on his descent into Covid denial, but doesn’t...Read full review »

If you want to be spoon fed misinformation, then this is for you. Just another attempt to dumb down the population. How disgustingly patronizing and bigoted. Go elsewhere and don’t fall for this tripe.

I patiently listened to this non dissection of how Gary Matthews passed away. It’s disgusting that a BBC reporter has the nerve to investigate one man and part of a community and persons who dare to question. History alone shows how incorrect narratives from those in power have had serious impact...Read full review »

Doesn’t make an attempt to investigate a persons draws to conspiracy and belief, but is a pretty consistent and patronising view of anivaxers as attention seekers and nut jobs

I found the constant message of hatred towards anyone without the BBC’s narrative off putting and annoying. I am far from an anti vaxer but the belittling of a community of people who may have slightly off topic views was just crass. The episodes were also way too short

Excellent listen

This program is too slow and they advertise the drama of the story by talking about the show too much. The information provided could have been covered in about two episodes.
Wendy8197 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 04/11/22
Interesting at parts although a little repetitive at times considering the time allowed for each episode.

I am by no means a conspiracy theorist and have all my Covid vaccins. I enjoyed this podcast but I did however find it excessively dismissive of any non mainstream views. The most obvious example being the Covid death rate: the journalist completely disregards the figure given by the conspiracy...Read full review »

This is an easy, sympathetic, interesting insight into a mindset I struggle to understand. Slightly unnerving as I know the town well and this conspiratorial view of the world is sadly not unusual enough. Good journalist so I’m keen to see what else she does over time. If you haven’t heard her on...Read full review »

As someone who does not believe conspiracy theories this was a balanced and nuanced insight into a world that is alien to me. I would be very much interested in a deeper dive version but this was a nice bite sized pod cast.

Listened to this after listening to Marianna Spring’s interview on the Fortunately podcast (which I very much enjoyed). It’s an interesting, if depressing, listen but I found the short episodes a bit irritating - if you listen to them broadly back-to-back you have to listen to the same slightly...Read full review »

I am a physician and have been waiting for someone to tell this story in a way I could hear. Thank you for the wonderful, thorough, human, kind but clear approach. It is healing for me to hear.

Interesting but pity episode 8 is missing.

The story is good but my god listening to the anti vax brigade is harsh.

Made with good intent and nicely produced, but trying to convert the mindset of someone so lost in the world of conspiracy that their life revolves around it, was never going to happen. If you’re new to hearing about covid conspiracists, then it’s a decent introduction, but anyone already...Read full review »

Another patronizing hatchet job from the BBC. It would have been interesting if the journalist spoke to the coroner or some other professional. Instead she sets out to discredit covid doubters by interviewing the most eccentric people she can find. Bit boring.
