Wow. Is all I can say. As difficult as it is it is so important that these stories be documented and told. History books are nice but there is no substitute for capturing first hand accounts like this.

This is a gut-wrenching, yet must hear story about the Cambodian genocide. I don’t believe there is enough out in the open about these very recent atrocities. Thank you and your family for sharing these incredible experiences of transcendence despite living through such horrors.

Thank you for creating this podcast and sharing your family story. It is so important, and I know very difficult for your family to relive. From the daughter of Cambodian refugees and a donut kid, I thank you. 🙏🏽

This podcast is amazing and gives us a first hand account of one of the worst tragedies in modern history. The Khmer Rouge period is almost never mentioned in schools despite the importance of it . We also don’t very often get to hear such a raw and honest open account of what happened to...Read full review »

The story is compelling and riveting, heart wrenching and eye opening! For next season, I hope this series evolves to include more Cambodian people willing to share their stories also and about life before the Khmer Rouge. Just love it!

I love what you produced Dorthy. I wish I could get my father to talk about his past like you did. Your are absolutely correct I. How this was not taught in school. It was not till I visited Cambodia in 2000 that I learned of this history and I was ashamed of not being aware. Hug your dad for me!...Read full review »

Very insightful to the history and journey from a survivor from the Khmer Rouge tragic regime. Growing up, this topic was very sensitive and taboo to talk about. This podcast is for people who want to learn about or educate others about the untold, Cambodian history during the rise of the Khmer...Read full review »

The first two episodes flew by as I started the podcast this morning. This podcast dives into the deep, dark, and mostly unspoken history of Cambodia during the Khmer Rouge from a first hand account. A courageous, powerful and well told story. A must listen.
