“I am an engineer, but not a software developer, so the topics of many episodes do tend to run deep into topics I am unfamiliar with, but I keep finding my self returning to this show time and time again as between the deep dives into esoteric programming development topics are some truly great shows.
The most recent trilogy (episodes 39-41) featuring Nitin Ganatra formerly of Apple contained some great insight into his time there from a new perspective. If you have any interest in how OSX, the iPhone and iPad came to be and the decision processes that went into these products, take the time to give it a listen. I believe that Guy’s experience within the industry enables him to ask some truly insightful questions and drive the discussion toward topics that are truly interesting, that someone with a pure journalism background may be unable to do.
Another great show is episode 34 “Sexism In Tech”, as it provides an alternative perspective on the culture at far too many technology related industries (not just development or web related fields).
As has been covered by other, the sound quality may not be up to 5By5 levels, it is still far better than many other shows out there, and far from unintelligible.”
