“I have been listening to Boomer Anderson ask very probing questions to the guests in Deciding Superhuman for about a year. It is time well spent and always provides some knowledge - some pearl of a great price - that helps me toward being a Superhuman... as best as possible.
The recent episode on Heart Rate Variability (HRV) with Jason Moore (elitehrv.com) is a stand out episode that anyone even moderately interested in health and wellness should listen too. Simply, the issue is to monitor ones HRV (blood pressure on steroids) in the AM (as one example) - via a free app. But you will need to purchase a device that can transmit your HRV to the app.
HRV can provide some clues as to how to approach your day. If the HRV is high it could indicate some underlying stress etc. Therefore, avoiding any big decisions might be in order.
But more importantly the goal is to get to a Healthy HRV. It is your daily number. With increased levels of obesity, scree time, stress and in general very poor health for a large sector of the world - managing HRV is simply good medicine. Upwards of 50% of the US population has some form on heart related issues. People are dying in slow motion. That is why all medical visits begins by taking blood pressure.
