Topic of the decade
Malcolm Turnbull raises valid questions putting forward generally a balanced viewpoint. On the other side as a progressive I do not go along conservative with Malcolm’s politics. Although I respect Malcolm’s life achievements, I am envious. It is in Malcolm’s own party the LNP that the two top players were until stopped, attempting to completely unravel Australian democracy. We were actually in the position where Scott Morrison theoretically could have instituted marital law and appoint himself supreme leader. From where I sit I believe this would have been supported by the passive participation of the Governor General. Turning to Peter Dutton playing the Music Man “You’ve Got Trouble” scenario. Dutton does not care about making highly outrageous statements, all the better if the statements are lies because the more outrageous the statements the more donation money roles in. Many people are truly gullible. Australia up until the Morrison and Dutton show was basically a balanced political country. Not much splitting us. The frightening side of the last election is that the LNP polled 5.2million popular votes despite everything RoboDebt, Sportsrorts, Disaster Mismanagement, Provoking adversaries, etc. In other words 5.2million Australians were happy to allow Morrison and Dutton to continue to drive Australia into quasi-authoritarianism. We were very close in deed to the abyss! What next? Uncomfortable Truth vs Reassuring Lies Given the theme of the next episode the 1920s What do you mean by today’s Far-Right?
