If I could speak to Malcolm directly, one of the main questions I’d like him to address is why now do we discuss the defence of democracy when the writing was on the wall in the eighties and nineties with the adoption of neo-liberalism, an ideology based on the idea that individualism reigns over any idea of society? It is since then that the real erosion of democracy began as business interests usurped the common good, where a greater and greater erosion of the middle class began. Governing a country is different to running a business, and that is true strategically and ethically and morally. And as you, Malcolm have stated never before have we seen so much disinformation and corruption in the halls of power and commerce.”
