Unique among all that’s out there.
The concept of this show is pretty simple—once or twice a week a guy with depression and avoidant personality issues talks about what’s going on in his life and how he feels. Sometimes he’s got good news to share and sometimes he’s struggling profoundly. More typically it’s just an ordinary day with mundane ups and downs made that much more challenging by a fragile psyche. Sounds like my life. But that’s less in the details than in the tone of the struggle. I think anyone who has tough times due to psych. stuff likely can relate. So our host, JP, might be in a parking lot in the middle of running errands that he’s having a tough time getting done. Or he might get a quick one in as his family is getting ready to move. There is no grand theorizing (some, tho’, as might normally come up in conversation), no solutions offered, no top-ten-ways-to-build-confidence-on-the-job or whatever. Instead, it’s like a phone call with a friend who you feel understands your struggles. When I am at my worst, on my back on the couch, petrified to go to work or anywhere else, I put on JP and it feels like I’m not alone in whatever’s going on. It really changes things! Simple concept; incredible impact. Thanks, JP!

I have loved this podcast from the moment I saw the classic clip art for the logo and then JP’s warm soothing voice was very captivating and put me at ease.
